Canadian infrastructure technology company expands availability of its SonicFinder™ 1000 system through Australia-based distribution ahead of Singapore International Water Week
AIRDRIE, Alberta, Canada — May 14, 2026 — Solinas Technologies announced today the expansion of its non-invasive plastic pipe locating technology into the Asia-Pacific market, beginning with Australia, as the company prepares to engage utilities and infrastructure stakeholders at Singapore International Water Week.
The expansion includes increased regional availability of the company’s SonicFinder™ 1000 system through Australia-based distribution partner Locating Supplies Australia.
As utilities around the world continue transitioning toward non-metallic buried infrastructure, locating plastic water and utility lines remains a growing operational challenge. PVC and HDPE systems are increasingly common across municipal water, utility, and industrial infrastructure networks, yet many traditional locating methods were originally developed around metallic assets.
The SonicFinder™ 1000 was developed to help utilities, contractors, and infrastructure operators improve visibility into difficult-to-locate buried assets without excavation or invasive procedures.
“Utilities across Asia-Pacific are facing many of the same infrastructure visibility challenges we see in North America and Australia,” said Marc Bracken, CEO of Solinas Technologies. “As more buried infrastructure shifts toward non-metallic materials, operators need practical field solutions that help locate assets safely and efficiently without invasive methods.”
The company says growing interest from the Asia-Pacific region reflects broader infrastructure trends tied to aging underground networks, expanding utility systems, and increasing adoption of plastic pipe materials.
Solinas Technologies believes these conditions are driving demand for practical field technologies that support infrastructure visibility, damage prevention, and more informed asset management.
Representatives from Solinas Technologies will attend Singapore International Water Week to meet with utilities, infrastructure operators, engineering firms, and distribution partners interested in next-generation buried infrastructure locating solutions.
The SonicFinder™ 1000 is designed to support locating applications involving non-metallic buried infrastructure across water, utility, and industrial environments where conventional locating methods may be limited.
About Solinas Technologies:
At Solinas Technologies our mission is to develop locating technologies, where no locating has been possible, with a focus on public safety. We have two primary technologies: Accurate location of plastic pipe without tracer wire installed on it has long been an issue for both gas and water utilities. While acoustical methods have been used in the past to find plastic pipe, they have had only limited effectiveness. We have developed a new innovative patented technology for plastic pipe location using acoustics that is both fast and effective. An acoustic technology to rapidly locate and document the location of Lead Service Lines (LSL’s) to help water utilities prioritize them for replacement. The technology works by placing an acoustic executor and transducer on a service key. There is no need to enter the house or building, making the technology very efficient and fast to implement.
